Couples Counseling

An empty grey couch with blue and white pillows. Three paintings of blue leaves hang on the wall behind the couch. Script text reads, “strengthen your connection.”

A green plant sits in front of Courtney Witt, who is out of focus

You’re tired of having the same arguments over and over again. You’re becoming hopeless as you look through old pictures, wondering how your relationship got to this point.

Things have become tense and distant between you and your partner. Miscommunication happens frequently, and surface-level dialogue seems to be the only safe way to connect lately. This is not the relationship either of you deserve. You desperately want more for yourself and your relationship. Asking yourself daily, “Can I do this for the rest of my life?” “Do I even matter?” or “Are they capable of loving or caring for me the way I need?”

Emotion-focused Therapy

How it works

01

We’ll start by talking about the ways in which you’ve been struggling as a couple. Both of you will have the opportunity to share your perceptions of problems and strengths within your relationship.

02

Then, we will work to identify the positive and negative cycles within your relationship. Highlighting and defining relationship history and key events, while holding space to understand attachment history and needs.

03

Through EFT we will work to identify your negative pattern(s) and find ways to disrupt this dynamic. Creating ways to become accessible, responsive and engaged with our emotional needs, as well as our partner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

No, I am considered an out of network provider. Though, I can help you follow up with your insurance to see if they cover out of network reimbursement.

How much are sessions? How long are sessions?

Couples therapy sessions are $205 / 60 minutes. Good Faith Estimates provided.

How often do you meet with clients?

My job is to work myself out of a job! I love, love, LOVE the work I am privileged to do. And, I also want clients to experience corrective change, which would limit the frequency of therapy. I meet with clients weekly at the beginning. Together, we discuss treatment along the way and we eventually will transition to biweekly, then to once a month! Previous clients are always welcome for “tune ups” as needed! It’s important that we keep those cobwebs out!

Do you offer sliding fee scale?

No, I do not offer a sliding fee scale. I offer four pro-bono slots on my caseload per year.

What is EFT?

Read this article to learn more.

Do you offer a waitlist?

I do not offer a waitlist. Though, if I am not available and I do not have any upcoming discharges. I would be happy to provide referrals to colleagues that I trust and respect.

Are you offering virtual sessions?

Yes! I’ve offered virtual sessions since 2018!

What are your hours?

I see clients from 9am-4pm, Monday-Thursday.

What payments do you accept?

Card, Paypal, FSA or HSA.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24-cancellation policy. If you cancel within 24 hours of appointment, you will be billed for the hour.

What if we’re not the right fit?

This happens and that’s okay! Therapy is for YOU! We know from research that the therapeutic alliance between clinician/client is the biggest indicator of change. If I am not the best fit for you, I will help you connect with a clinician to transition over to.
